Thee-o
Thee-O has always been ahead of his time, as a DJ, label owner, producer, and a re-mixer. He has been heralded as one of the most popular and hardworking DJ’s in Los Angeles. Thee-O has been deemed the Godfather of the dance culture due to his longevity as a L.A. DJ since 1992. A musical entertainer since he was in pre-school, a mobile DJ since he was 13, a king of Goa and a Master of Trance and Techno in his twenties, and now a house-music veteran, DJ Thee-O of Los Angeles, radiates his musical mastery in the global electronic scene.
“It’s hard to believe that one DJ can exude such confidence and mastery over so many styles of music.” – URB Magazine
The name Thee-O has an immense impact on the electronic scene-sters that goes hand-in-hand with the Southern California rave and club culture. Ask anyone who resides in L.A. about DJ Thee-O and you will hear how they saw him at their first rave back in the early 90s or how they just heard his new track being dropped in a club downtown. Thee-O’s passion for the electronic dance culture surpasses his talent and skills at the turntables and beyond to the studio.
Thee-O is best known for his talented mixing and scratching skills along with his consistent sets that always get the crowds moving and grooving. His loyal following continues to grow not only in the city of L.A. but beyond the U.S., with help from his numerous amount of original music productions, MP3 Sets, pod-casts, CD’s, mix tapes, and his untiring efforts for the dance music industry that he loves so much. “It is still a rush for me. After 17 years in this, I still find new things about that I enjoy. The music still is the main motivation for me.” – Thee-O
When he was a child at the tender age of 5, he began taking a portable record player with him at all times and amused classmates and friends with classic movie soundtracks. At the age of 13, he obtained his first set of turntables and a mixer. Throughout high school he DJ’d at school dances and house parties where he honed his scratching skills. After he graduated High School in 1991 he was about to embark on training to be an opera singer but got sidetracked when he went to his first rave in early 1992. After that fateful night, he knew what he wanted to do with his life – become a DJ in this scene! It didn’t take him long to accomplish that dream -with his first gig, “Under the Kandyground” in March of 1992, he began building a reputation as one of L.A.’s leading dance DJs.
“For those of you that don’t know THEE-O, the man is the mayor of L.A. I don’t think there is a DJ on the west coast that has his name on as many flyers as Thee-O…word…” – Frankie Bones
Over the past years he has spun next to Outkast, Orbital, Underworld, BT, Judge Jules, Robbie Rivera, Mark Knight, The Orb, Paul Oakenfold, Moby, Aphex Twin, 808 State, Chemical Brothers, Mixmaster Morris, Blank & Jones, Paul Ritch, Chris Liebing, Neil Landstrumm, DJ Dan, 2 Bad Mice, Carl Craig, Rabbit in the Moon, Juno Reactor, DJ Sneak, Dave Angel, X-Cabs and many notable others.

Currently Thee-O has started a new show called Viva La Tech Radio that airs on DI.FM. Thee-O can still be heard on Groove Radio on XM Sirius providing guest mixes.
“When I am on the decks, it is my natural habitat, I feel most comfortable there.” – Thee-O
In 1993, he started Biohazard Productions and Studios as collective of like-minded DJ’s. In 1995 he threw his first event aptly titled “Tomorrowland”. In 1996 he started writing for URB Magazine as a reviewer for Trance music. In 1997 he became part of the Balance Record Pool which is considered the best electronic dance pool in the country. In 1998 he released his first commercially available mix CD, “Skywalking” under the Base 9 label. In 2000 he was featured at every massive festival going off in Los Angeles, including Electric Daisy Carnival and Monster Massive. Recently, his name has spread over to the club market as well DJing for clubs like RED, Spundae, Funktion, Naked, Compression, Circus, Vanguard, Incognito and other L.A. establishments. He is currently known as the “Godfather” of the Los Angeles rave scene with his name on a flyer becoming almost a seal of approval for ravers.
“Thee-O is one of the longstanding and consistently amazing parts of the Southern California Rave Scene, and should be respected as such.” – Raversdigest.com
As a producer and re-mixer, Thee-O is striking hard and is known as a force to be reckoned with in the global dance community. His recent work with Erphun, “Collusion”, is being released on Bedrock Records and featured on John Digweed’s new album, “Structures”.

In 2005, he built Biohazard Studios 2.0 and refocused on establishing his name as a producer and remixer. Currently he has over 90 releases under his belt with loads more to come. His current love of Tech House and Techno has brought him to build a new brand with partner David X called “Viva La Tech”. This new brand will house a record label, host and throw events and push the tech sound in raves and clubs in Los Angeles and beyond.
“My goals are simple. To create music that moves both me and the crowd.” – Thee-O

Mungo
Mungo’s introduction to Techno music took place in the summer of 1989 at Double Hit Mickey’s Electric Daisy Carnival at an outdoor swap meet in Chino! He was instantly and permanently hooked on Techno music.
His exposure to the underground music scene included such events as No-Doz, Aphrodites Temple, Paw-Paw Ranch, countless events at La Casa in Los Angeles, pretty much anywhere Ron D Core and DJ Dan would be playing. Some other favorite DJ’s to follow included Thee-O, Kool-Aid, Adam X, Frankie Bones, Mellinfunk.
He was introduced to the beautiful art of DJing in the late 90′s by his good friend Rolland Colon. After a lot of practice Rolland, Mungo, and their good friend Chris McDonnell (Cheech) would play at many, many house parties in South Orange County. Every now and then they would play at the infamous Cowboy Boogie in Anaheim. Mungo and Rolland played the VIP room at the NYE 2000/2001 party at the Irvine Marriot. The clubby styles of Techno just weren’t cutting it for Mungo so he started playing the true underground sounds that really moved him! Such genres as NRG, Hard Trance, Acid Trance, Techno, Hard Techno, Schranz, Hardcore Techno. Pretty much anything with a mean rhythm and an evil melody!!
After a few years away from the underground scene Mungo is back and ready to share his love of Techno music with everybody!
2012 was a great year for Mungo, he started actively promoting himself at different events, on various social networks, making mixes, burning countless cd’s, etc…. He was invited to join the Dr. Freecloud’s family, Techno Belligerent, and had a few guest appearances at various events throughout the summer.
Early in the year Mungo and Arcid teamed up to run an internet based radio show on Wednesdays at 4pm. The Techno Belligerent Radio Show is broadcast from Mungo’s house most every week, with the occasional field trip to Dr.Freecloud’s Record Shoppe to broadcast from there. The driving force behind the radio show is to showcase as much of the west coast underground talent as possible, keeping the music alive and well!! They have had artists like Frankie Bones, Ron D Core, Dj Krylon, among so much more local talent!!!
Mungo was a part of such events as The Third Eye Vision Festival, Audio Science Dr. Freecloud’s Takeover, quite a few BBQ’s at the record shop, and Fantastic Wax to name a few.
2013 has started off with a bang. Not only is Mungo happily sharing his music with the world every Wednesday, he has been invited to a few pretty big events like Acid Rain (Feb 9) hosted by Mellinfunk and Angel Flores of the Bass Afflicted crew, this very broadcast of Riders of The Plastic Groove with D.P.S.M. and Ron D Core, quite a few more BBQ’s at Dr. Freecloud’s Record Shoppe, a few really good shows at the RThree Social Lounge including Sentience hosted by Verity of MSR w/ R.A.W. and DJ Robin. You will find Mungo out in the desert in August at Because We Love YouToo.
